Our chapter is thrilled to announce it has been selected for the Law School Chapter Award to be given at this year’s Ms. JD’s Annual Conference in Chicago- Promoting Retention Opportunity Partnership Excellence and Leadership (P.R.O.P.E.L.) this March. The award is given to a law school organization that champions the advancement of women law students through, for example, chapter initiatives (including pre-law initiatives), programming or recruitment.
NWLSO-UPR was founded in 2014 and launched its most successful program yet–the Student Mentorship Program, where upper-class students are paired with new students for a year of networking, guidance, and empowerment. Since then, along with other initiatives and activities, it has grown and empowered many women at the University of Puerto Rico School of Law. Our goal is to keep promoting our strength in unity and advocating for equality in the profession. NWLSO congratulates the other awardees in receiving a Ms. JD Award and is honored to be part of such a remarkable group of leaders.
